Albuquerque Police Department Substations Vandalized Overnight

Four Albuquerque Police Department substations across the city were vandalized with red paint Monday night.

The substations at Central and Rio Grande by Old Town, Central and Girard near the University of New Mexico, Montgomery and Tramway in the foothills and one on South Broadway were all painted overnight, according to an APD news release.

The defacement is most likely in retaliation to the recent shooting of James Boyd, a homeless man who was fatally shot after a three hour-long confrontation with police over illegal camping.

Residents have held several protests against police violence by Albuquerque police since the shooting last month.

In a highly scathing assessment, the Justice Department said Thursday that the Albuquerque Police Department, whose officers have shot a and killed 23 people in the past four years, had engaged in a “pattern or practice of use of excessive force,” often acting recklessly and violating people’s constitutional rights.

one crime does not justify another crime

This is an artistic form of protest. IDGAF if the state calls it a crime.

How can you even relate the brutal murders of 23 human beings to a non-violent action against genocide?

SHIT this is my town

“Protest beyond the law is not a departure from democracy; it is absolutely essential to it.” ―Howard Zinn

But anyway, there has been a lot of protesting about police brutality and I really hope they get the message and enact some reforms because shit is honestly getting scary.

This is not an artistic form of protest, this is straight up vandalism. The DOJ had already picked up the case and was ready to make an announcement about reform to the force, and all these shitty people just went and rioted for no reason, got gassed after bringing guns and throwing rocks at officers at a peaceful protest, and then laid down in the highway, but accomplished nothing other than looking like idiots in the national news. This was an attack on a sub station just to make more problems, not help anything. It’s embarrassing, it’s childish, and it’s not fair to the entire department to be blamed for the actions of a handful of shitty cops.

Seriously the idiots that are doing this are not heroes, and not anything more than cunts. Granted, I never cared about the shooting either, but this is just childish and stupid.

Time Rifters is a very clever single-player first person shooter co-op game where ‘time rifts’ allow you to be your own team mates.  Each time you play through a level, all of your actions are recorded and reproduced for the next playthrough, even the weapon upgrades.  You can do this 4 times, allowing you to play as 4 independent time clones, working together (with yourself) to complete the levels.  It’s a fantastic premise and works really well once you’ve wrapped your head around the concept.

The game also looks fantastic, with it’s minimalistic futuristic world and voxel based enemies that can be destroyed piece by piece.  It’s also available on Oculus Rift, for a completely immersive experience.

Time Rifters is based on a truly unique idea which shouldn’t work and somehow does, very well in fact.  It’s a single player co-op FPS - a damn good one too and it certainly gives a new meaning to ‘playing with yourself’.
